Dane Huston was born in Ft Worth, Texas in January of 1954. In
1963, his father, Robert “Bob” Huston, started a new
career in a new exciting industry, Cable Television. That move
was the true catalyst that launched Dane’s interest and
eventually his lifelong career in the cable industry. Throughout
high school and into college, Dane worked in the family owned
and operated business. His father (considered a Cable Pioneer)
was both editor and publisher of Cable News magazine and operated
cable systems in the state of Arkansas.
In 1976 a decision was made to leave the family operations and
throughout the mid 1970’s and into the 80’s Dane worked
as an installer, technician and chief technician. In 1981 Dane
moved his family to Bixby, OK to become the General Manager of
the cable system owned by Multimedia Cablevision. In 1986 Dane
met Bob Price and together they formed what was to become Eagle
Cable Partners. Within 18 months they acquired 50 cable systems
throughout Oklahoma and Texas. They sold the systems in 1989 and
Dane continued on with the new owners as a Regional Manager of
72 franchises in 3 states.
Dane made another career change in 1994 when he made the successful
transition to cable equipment sales; serving cable systems in
Arkansas, Kansas, New Mexico and Oklahoma. Dane decided to bring
his many years of experience to Omega Broadband in March of 2005
and is very excited about this new opportunity. He will continue
to provide his customer’s in Arkansas, eastern Kansas, and
eastern Oklahoma with the professional sales support they have
come to expect.
Dane’s active involvement in the SCTE has been ongoing
throughout his career. He currently is the President of the Sooner
State Chapter in OK, Treasurer of the Razorback Chapter in AR
and long time active Board member of the Wheat State Chapter in
Kansas. He is a long time Board member of both the New Mexico
State Cable Association as well as the Oklahoma State Cable Association.
On a personal note, Dane and his wife Cynde were married in April
of 1974 and raised both of their children in the Tulsa area and
are about to become first time grandparents in May of 2005. His
interest in both aviation, as well as boating, has kept him active
